I just wanted to let you guys know that for over a year now on top of Phoronix and some other technology ventures, I have also been involved with another start-up company. My official title is Director of Software Development (along with essentially being the chief technology officer). In a few months time we will hopefully be ready to go public and prepare for launch (initially in the US market). If I may say so myself, our service/product should prove to be revolutionary. The system is embedded and the latest prototype I have been working on (which is likely the revision that will go public) runs Linux -- a modified version of Fedora Core at this time.

    Stay tuned for further developments

Heh, yes I have developed and used Fedora / Red Hat for years so it seemed logical to base it upon that for our needs. Our primary manufacturer also supports RH/Fedora (though that doesn't matter much).

Well what I will/can expose is that it's a completely original idea with no other contenders in the market -- nor anyone else holding US patents on the same or very similar processes/concepts. Our target audience does not directly consist of computer enthusiasts or gamers (if it fits into anything, it would be health care). This product is actually beneficial and those (who have no stake in this company) that have tried out this product have found it to be of truly serious benefit.

In the rare (unfortunate) situation that we dissolve before reaching market, I will make some alterations so that people can construct their own unit, which would likely result in one hell of a multi-platform open-source project.

That's greatly appreciated. I can't wait to see what you end up with. Me, I'm in a similar position, though probably a little further behind (Got a bit of work left to do and we're trying to close on an investment round to complete the projects needing completion, etc...)

It looks like we may start shipping this July. Though we will initially begin just rolling out the product in the midwest and then expand nation-wide (and likely on an international scale as well).

We will have a corporate website available hopefully next month.
